Analog Printing: Poseidon and Shells

Experiment:

Combining a photo and 3D objects, in this case a statue of Poseidon from Ocean City and shells from the beach.

Plus:
  • Very surprised at how well the shells appear
  • The colors (Cornflower and Mist, and 1 with Sunflower) work well on Kraft paper. Interesting somehow at times there's a hint of red.
  • Wrinkle in paper is fantastic
Minus:
  • More conceptual - I wasn't really into or even clear on what the plot was with this so initially I quite disliked them
  • Not sure if I like the mix of 2D and 3D, I feel it breaks the space. May need to sit with this a while.
Next:
  • Let this sit. I do like the more abstract iterations, that are really about color and texture
  • More wrinkled paper! I love how physical it makes the print
