Kore Color Studies 2/Underpainting
Another look at underpainting, using a lighter tint on colored paper. The original goal was to create a sense of space by including changes in value behind a flat field, but the warmth or coolness of the colors, in this case Mist and Bisque, have a huge impact.
Experiment:
Will adding Bisque or Mist as an underpainting add dimension?
Plus:
- The impact was bigger than I expected. It does add space, but I didn't expect how much Bisque would turn things "warm", and Mist turn them "cool"
Minus:
- none
Next:
- Will definitely use Bisque as an undertone in future prints.
