Some interesting effects and learnings. Much of this did not go the way I thought it would but Riso has some interesting things to say.
Experiment:
Can I bring the feel of a pastel to Riso, esp the overlay of colors?
Plus:
- The texture of pastel *could* come through
Minus:
- The "grainy" texture of Riso means the flatter background is hard to do
Next:
- For flatter background, try 2 layers of diffusion dither in a lighter color or tone
- Work with the simplicity of the "etching" background
- Be bolder with color separations, try them intentionally as drawings - what I want isn't a 4 color separation that reproduces the original, but a layered set of colors, like pastel
