Apparently I've moved beyond torturing pears and am now torturing vases.
Experiment:
What colors can give the largest sense of 3 dimensionality to the vase?
Plus:
Always love playing with color
Love the color blacks, with no halftones printed over them. Wasn't expecting that
Minus:
none
More:
Removing the background color makes a huge difference in both space and color. For the prints on darker paper, having no background immediately flattens them . I think that's because it makes the tonal range much broader, instantly translating the more subtle variations into flatness.
Next:
Consider playing more with broad areas of color with and against the halftone patterns.
