Randomness, Patterns, and Living In and With Other People’s Decisions v3

Experiment:

Like v2, this experiment also used the colors left in the Riso machine, but to limit the variables (to a degree) instead of dice it uses squares of different halftone patterns. This gave me more control/input as I could choose the halftone pattern/density as well as the placement of the squares on the glass.

Plus:
  • I loved seeing the colors layer
  • I liked the element of being able to react to what had happened,  choosing the halftone pattern and placement based on both the current image and the colors I was working with.
Minus:
  • I still get the position on the glass backwards, but perhaps in this experiment that's not even a minus.
Next:
  • Treat this one a little more seriously - I quite like where it's going
    • Paper with a little more personality
    • More layers
