Reassembled Vase: Experiments
Experiment:
Explore Orchid + Purple on tan paper
Plus:
- Did get another set of unassembled pieces to use for future prints
- The split vases, printed on 2 pieces of 8 1/2 x 11 work
- The combined 81/2 x 11s work
- Orchid and Purple work well
Minus:
- Definitely suffered from a lack of focus here. Lots of things I like, but not sure where it's going
- Too many different tasks to work through at one time: assembling the vase, un-assembling, and then making prints based on that. It would be better to break these us (though I'm glad I tried)
- Don't like the red stripe
Next:
- Although part of this leans on spontaneity, spend more time prepping possibilities
- Find a good way to name the stages
- Think about pattern vs the story - I want to have the movement of layers, which tell a narrative, but the patterns are incredibly interesting. Which, in which prints, do I want to focus on?
- Try simple outline of vase/shape in first step
- Try Purple and Black, with the black force it to appear lighter?
